First Things in Youth Ministry
Are You New to Youth Ministry?
Not Sure Where to Start?
First Things in Youth Ministry is a virtual formation program intended for coordinators of youth ministry (YM). Whether volunteer or paid, this training will guide coordinators through the fundamentals of youth ministry. Think of it as Basic Training in Comprehensive Youth Ministry. Our Office of Ministry to Young People is offering an 8-session virtual program this summer covering the entire First Things training along with an accompanied session on "Listen, Teach, Send" the new USCCB framework for Ministry with Young People (2024). The training is intended to function as cohort learning; therefore, attendance and participation enrich the learning experience.
Participants will:
- Be part of an "Online Cohort" with other peers from the Diocese of Sacramento
- Receive a complementary 1 year NFCYM Associate membership with 3-month access to the materials on the NFCYM website
- Meet and learn from other ministers who are passionate about youth ministry
- Receive a Certificate of Completion from the NFYCM upon completion of the training
The cost for the entire training is only $50 per participant. We encourage the parish to invest in your training. If cost is an issue, please contact us and we can work with the parish. If you are interested, please complete the interest form below. Must be 18 years or older to participate.
