The Jubilee Year stars on Dec. 24, 2024 with the opening of the Holy Door in Rome. In the Diocese of Sacramento, the faithful will participate in a special Vigil Mass to proclaim the Jubilee Year. Bishop Jaime Soto will preside.

The Mass will take place on the Vigil of the Feast of the Holy Family. The Mass will be bilingual and include a special blessing for families. People should gather in the plaza in front of the Cathedral at 5 p.m. Be part of this historic event!

St. Patrick's Seminary in Menlo Park, CA will be offering a discernment retreat for men 21 years or older.  You can register through the Office of Priestly & Religious Vocations.  A letter of recommendation by the participant's pastor is needed.

Bishop Soto, joined by members of the clergy of Sacramento, will offer a Mass of Reparation for the sin of legalized abortion inflicting the people of California.

January 22 marks the anniversary of the lamentable 1973 U.S. Supreme Court Decision, Roe v. Wade. While Roe was overturned in 2022, Proposition One was passed in California, embedding the practice of unrestricted access to abortion in our State Constitution.
