The Diocese of Sacramento's Department of Lay Formation offers Intermediate Course Series, Level 1- a ministerial program and Level 2 - theological program, for all catechetical and ministry leaders.

Parishes are evangelizing communities of faith, justice and solidarity. It is where we encounter God, and where we are called to bring God’s love, to a world in desperate need of the seasoning of the gospel. 

Throughout this series, we will explore how we can integrate the Elements of Parish Social Ministry (Advocacy, Solidarity, Community Organizing and Charity) within the life of the parish so that we may be “salt of the earth” and “light of the world” in our communities (cf. Mt 5:13-16)

Is it a challenge to serve with your parishioners with disAbilities and their families? You are not alone! Drawing from her book, Together as One Body, master catechist Ana Barraza encourages participants to explore together practical ways to serve with persons with disAbilities. Physical, liturgical, and catechetical accessibility along personal narratives in adaptive catechesis and evangelization will help in building awareness and knowledge as we encounter persons with disAbilities in faith formation, ministry, and life.
