I am twenty four years old and come from a small family with one half-sister, Haley.
I grew up in the Sacramento area and have lived here all my life. My home parish is St. Rose of Lima in Roseville. I enjoy the outdoors and spending time with my friends.
I first heard the call at the age of eighteen when I came into full communion with the Church, but I didn't think that it was for me. Four years later when I was looking and praying for direction in my life I would feel that call again. This time I looked in to it and it brought me to the Office of Vocations. They helped me to explore my call, and when I decided to apply for the Diocese, they helped me with that too.
I look forward to serving God's people in the Sacramento Diocese. I have found in my life and in my vocation the great beauty of God's love and I wish to share that with the people of the Diocese of Sacramento. We are all made in the image and likeness of God and we are called to see that in each-other. This means that we must serve the needs of our brothers and sisters recognizing our Lord in them.
During the summer of 2007, I had the chance to do something quite amazing. I joined a group called Crossroads for a summer walk across the country in support of life. That's right! We walked all the way from San Francisco to Washington D.C. All the way we would talk to people and parishes about what we were doing and what it means to be pro-life. It was not easy to spend five days out of the week walking and the other two talking. But, by the end of the summer I really felt that I had accomplished something. It was a great experience which I would recommend to anyone who wishes to stand up for life.
I have had the opportunity to spend the last two years of my life at Mount Angel Seminary. It has been a great experience for me. Each day I start with prayer with my brother seminarians followed by Mass. I have learned so much about the Catholic faith over the last two years that it is amazing. I understand myself and the Church so much better now that I have been in the seminary. I love having the chance to live and work with other Catholic men who love the Lord. Each day brings new experiences and lessons, none of which I would trade for anything. |
Tengo veinte años de edad y nací en una familia pequeña solo con Haley, mi media hermana.
Crecí en el área de Sacramento donde he vivido toda mi vida. Mi parroquia es Santa Rosa de Lima en la ciudad de Roseville. Me gustan mucho las actividades al aire libre y pasar tiempo con mis amigos.
Escuché el llamado del Señor desde cuando tenía la edad de dieciocho años cuando entre como nuevo Católico en la Iglesia, aún en ese tiempo yo no creía que este llamado fuera para mi. Después de cuatro años cuando me encontraba buscando en oración qué dirección tomaría mi vida cuando sentí de nuevo este llamado. En esta ocasión lo tome en serio y esto me llevo a la oficina de vocaciones. Ahí me ayudaron en el descubrimiento de mi llamado y también me ayudaron cuando decidí solicitar el ingreso a la diócesis.
Anticipo con gran deseo servir al Pueblo de Dios en la Diócesis de Sacramento. He encontrado en mi vida y en mi vocación la hermosura del amor de Dios y es esto que quiero compartir con las personas de la Diócesis de Sacramento. Todos hemos sido creados a imágen y semejanza de Dios y estamos llamados a ver esto mismo en cada uno de nosotros. Lo cual quiere decir que debemos servir al hermano y hermana en sus necesidades y reconocer la presencia del Señor en ellos.
Durante el verano del año 2007, tuve la oportunidad de experimentar algo fabuloso, me uní al grupo llamado “Crossroads” para la marcha de verano recorriendo el país en favor de la vida. Así es! Caminamos desde San Francisco hasta la ciudad de Washington, D.C. Durante el recorrido pudimos hablar en prroquias y con mucha gente acerca del significado de optar por la defensa de la vida. No fue nada fácil pasar cinco días de la semana caminando y hablando de esto. Sin embargo, al finalizar el verano sentí que de verdad había logrado algo. Fue una gran experiencia que yo recomendaría a cualquier persona que desee optar por defender la vida.
He tenido la oportunidad de pasar los últimos dos años de mi vida en el seminario de Mount Angel. Ha sido para mí una gran experiencia. Mi día inicia con la oración junto con mis otros hermanos seminaristas seguida de la celebración de la misa. En los últimos dos años que he estado en el seminario he aprendido mucho acerca de la fe Catolica. Me encanta tener la oportunidad de vivir y trabajar con otros Católicos que aman al Señor. Cada día trae nuevas experiencias y nuevas lecciones las que no cambiaría por nada del mundo.
